In the dynamic world of tech start-ups and entrepreneurship, nothing will light that fire of inspiration under you quite like being among peers and founders who have seen their share of challenges and who have broken through their brick walls. The wealth of information and insight you can glean from engaging with start-ups of wide-ranging levels of growth and success cannot be understated.

This summer presents the prime opportunity to do exactly that.

Techsauce Media Co, Thailand’s leading technology-oriented content provider, announced that it will host the third annual international technology conference on June 22 and 23, 2018. The event, considered Southeast Asia’s biggest technology conference, aims to connect the region’s tech ecosystems with such global tech players as Techstars to share their experience. It also highlights key trends in AgTech, FoodTech, HealthTech, LivingTech and EnergyTech, which will help enable better lifestyles and create social impact.

Chief executive and co-founder Oranuch Lerdsuwankij shares that the summit’s third edition, which will take place at Centara Grand at Central World in Bangkok, aims to raise the bar for technology ecosystems across Thailand and countries in Southeast Asia. Knowledge sharing and networking among entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders at the event are expected to bring tangible changes in the region.

More than 200 key speakers around the world, ranging from CEOs, investors, and technology specialists will attend the event to share their thoughts and experiences. These include, among many others, David Brown, co-founder of Techstars, the world’s leading accelerator house; Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum, the world’s hottest Cryptocurrency exchange platform; and Mike Peng from IDEO Tokyo.

Support from the private sector this year is overwhelming, with sponsors including leading corporations Siri Ventures Co, True Digital Park, PTT Plc, Advance Info Service Plc, Line Company (Thailand), dtac accelerate, Digital Ventures Co by SCB, Muang Thai Insurance Plc, AddVentures by SCG, and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau.

Says Oranuch, “This year we want to see the extensive use of technology in other industries, particularly in the food and agriculture sectors, where Thailand plays a crucial role in the global stage. A huge chunk of Thai population is in the sector. Food and agriculture technology will make radical changes by adding more value into commodity products, generating more revenue, and making a better life for the individuals in the sector.”

Oranuch’s team believes that health, wellness, and energy are also areas that should be empowered by technology. She says, “Bringing the extensive use of technology into people’s lives is very essential, which will bridge the gap in society and help develop the country to the next level. AgTech, FoodTech or HealthTech need to be focused on as we have seen in many countries, where they held very specific tech fairs.”

Techsauce Global Summit 2018 has a total of 10 stages, divided into two groups. The first is for topics on social technologies for enterprises, which range from AgTech and FoodTech, HealthTech, LivingTech to FinTech. This is expected to encourage businesses, start-ups, and technology enthusiasts to join a task force of social change.

The other group will enable summit delegates to experience and learn more about the latest developments in state of the art technology and innovation, the start-up and venture capital space, as well as updates on deep tech, blockchain, cryptocurrency, augmented reality, virtual reality, data science, and artificial intelligence.

Apart from the seminar, key activities have been organized, including business matching, and the final round of start-up’s investor pitch deck from more than 20 countries across Asia and Oceania continent.

“Amidst the rapid pace of technological changes that fundamentally shape industries, we expect that the Summit would lure more than 10,000 attendants, up 40 percent more than last year, thanks to the rising numbers of start-ups launched by domain experts,” Oranuch says.

Thailand’s technology ecosystem is in the midst of transition, experiencing exponential growth in terms of market value as investors are realizing the value of joining the start-up bandwagon. In Thailand alone, recent years have seen its biggest corporates joining the start-up sphere by setting up their own venture capital.
